Boy these really made me think heh.

<span style="font-size: 10pt;
CH – Charged, Emits a jolt of energy upon a successful strike that inflicts more damage as well as has a chance to paralyze an opponent. If the Total Damage inflicted with a Charged weapon is greater then a character’s body, the character is considered paralyzed for the difference in rounds. For example, A character hits an opponent for 12 points of Total Damage, the opponent has a body of 10 so he is in Paralysis for 2 rounds as a result of the damage. Weapons with the Charged Mod are often difficult to handle and thus suffers a -2 penalty to hit. Mod Difficulty: 15

LW – Light Weight, Weapons are extremely light and easy to handle, The weapon has a true center of balance and as such the character wielding a Light Weight weapon receives a +4 bonus to hot but a -1 bonus to damage. Light Weight weapons are designed for quick strikes not fatal blows. Mod Difficulty: 13

OP – Over-Powered, (Energy Blades only) an Energy Blade that is Over Powered is truly an unwieldy weapon of mass damage. Mystics often do not wish to tamper with the a Energy Blade because such an act violates the very teachings of a Mystic. By unbalancing the natural finesse of the blade this Mod incurs a -2 penalty to hit, but grants the user double his damage. Mod Difficulty: 18

RS – Razor Sharp, (Edged Weapons only) The edged weapon with this mod has been so finely honed that it is able to slide through objects with the greatest of ease. It takes a very steady hand and eye to perfect a Razor Sharp blade, many a Gnolam merchant has lost their digits during the process. +2 bonus to damage rolls. Mod Difficulty: 16

RT – Retractable, This mod functions for all manner of Melee Weapons. Once added the Weapon shrinks to 1/3 it’s original size. Large weapons become Small, Medium weapons Tiny, A small weapon with this mod reverts to Tiny. This Mod is intended to hide weapons to avoid detection. In order for the weapon to be used again in combat, it must take it’s normal size once again. Doing so costs one action. This adds a +4 Defensive Security bonus when being searched. Mod Difficulty: 14

SR – Serrated, Weapons with this Mod have Jagged edges carved or dug into them so they inflict additional damage. A Serrated weapon adds +3 to damage to reflect that it actually rips chunks out of an opponent, The character wielding a serrated weapon also suffers a -1 on his next action after a strike due to the fact he literally has to Rip the weapon free from the opponents body. Mod Difficulty: 14

WT – Weighted, (Blunt Weapons only) Weapons that are Weighted have additional weight added to the ends to add more of a Punch upon a strike. This can take the form of Metal padding on the tips of the Weapon or even filling the Weapon with a dense liquid. Weighted weapons are off balance so the character suffers a -1 penalty to hit, but receives a +3 to her damage roll. Mod Difficulty: 8

Modifications

Modifications are alterations that are performed on Weapons, Armor, and even some items within reason. The GM should have final say so as to what can be modified or changed. A character wishing to Mod an item herself must have at least 4 levels in the skill Engineering. A Mod check is made by the character rolling a 1d12 plus his Mind Rating against the assigned difficulty.

If the character fails the check, she may not attempt again on that item. Consequently the GM should decide if the failure of this has damaged the item or ruined it completely.

Some Modifications function automatically; others must be activated as an action. For example a Neutron Blaster normally fires a single shot but it has the modification Auto-Fire on it. The Player must declare to the GM she is switching firing methods from Single Shot to Auto-Fire.

Ranged Weapons Modifications

AF – Auto-fire, Fires three Separate times in rapid succession. Each time after the first taking a -2 penalty to hit. Use of Auto-fire is considered a single attack but must be declared prior to the attack. Auto-Fire can also be used to attack up to three enemies that are adjacent to each other. Mod Difficulty: 16

1st Attack – Penalty -0

2nd Attack – Penalty -4

AP – Armor Piercing, Weapons penetrate any type of armor except those with special resistance to Armor Piercing weapons. All damage done passes through as if the opponent wore no armor. Armor Piercing is considered to be automatically activated on the weapon. Mod Difficulty: 13

CO – Continuous, Fires a continuous beam allowing fire for a complete round. This gives time to adjust the aim during dire. Adds +3 to Hit. Must be declared prior to the initial attack roll. Mod Difficulty: 14

ENV – Enveloping, Surrounds a Target at the moment of impact and strikes from four directions at once. This effectively Quadruples the damage done when hit. This also makes the weapon more unwieldy and difficult to handle due to the force being used. Must be declared prior to the initial attack roll. -4 Penalty to Hit. Mod Difficulty: 17

NR <span style="font-size: 10pt; Credit System

Did alittle bit of work last night between insomnia and sleep creeping in. God I've been so busy do not worry all I have not forgotten about the RPG, not at all! It's just become harder to find time to work on it. but here's alittle bit of what I got done last night

Equipment
In the Spaceports of the Orion Universe, Merchants and Traders offer a wide variety for those with enough Credits to afford them. Just about anything can be found in these stores; Armor, Weapons, and General Items. There are four sizes that Equipment fall into it. The sizes will help reflect how a character can handle such items, whether in combat or attempting to use an item to aid another.

Tiny, items are the size palm and can be easily accessed with no equipment penalty during combat. A tiny item may be treated as if the character has both hands free for the purpose of using skills as well.

Small, items that are small are held in one hand leaving one hand free to do other activities. A character using a small item in one hand only suffers a -2 penalty for using one hand for actions.

Medium, items that fall into the medium category require two hands to use but can be used with only one hand at a -2 penalty to the task at which they are designed for. A character using a small item in one hand suffers a -4 penalty when using her free hand on actions.

Large, Items in this size group require two hands to use and activate and cannot be used with only one hand. A character cannot perform another action while holding a large item and must free her hands before using an action.

Huge, items that are Huge must be used or held by more then one character. A character attempting to use a Huge item alone suffers a -4 penalty to his action. Alternately there certain Huge category items that can be worn or used, Such as Battletoids. While using these items as they are intended to be used the character does not suffer the -4 penalty.

Credits

Credits are the galactic currency. They are traded through a system similar to Modern day credit cards except that every registered citizen in the galaxy has a microchip imbedded in the back of their hand. As well as managing funds, it also stores personal information (i.e. occupation, residence, criminal records). This was developed early on to prevent citizens from over spending and suffering the effects of bankruptcy.

In order to purchase an item or service, the character has his hand scanned and the amount is automatically deducted from his account. Each item has an assigned “Cost” difficulty that the character must roll a 1d12 against when purchasing equipment. Once rolled the character adds his Credit bonus to this roll and if it is equal or greater then the Cost difficulty then he has bought the item, if the roll fails then the character could not afford the item or was unable to locate a vendor that either had the item in stock or was willing to sell to the character.

If the pervious roll fails, the player can decide to try again, represented in game play as the character shopping around to get the best price or bargain. The GM might want to restrict the number a times a player can attempt to buy an item if he feels the item in question might be hard to find at a specific spaceport or simply unavailable in this area. (A group of natives in the Virgil system would not have the latest Powered Armor)

The player can request to lower the difficulty of purchasing a specific item within reason. Buy used Items at Pawn shops or Thrift stores might be more enticing but might however be more worn and prone to needing repair more often or even breaking during a critical moment. All these should be taken into consideration by the GM.

A character’s Class Credit bonus displays what the character will receive at the end of a pay cycle. A character with a +3 Credit bonus may spend all their funds and have their bonus back again at the beginning of the next cycle. When ever a character purchases an item over a Cost of 8 his bonus decreases by one. He can continue to shop and spend with no bonus however every time a purchase above eight is made he will drop into a negative penalty. This shows the character is falling into debt. When a pay cycle is refreshed it lowers the penalty until completely gone and the character can start over. (I.e. A character has carelessly spent his credits driving him into a -4 Credit Penalty. Next pay cycle he receives a +2 which lowers his penalty to -2. This pattern will continue until his is out of debt.)

A character can temporarily increase his Credit bonus, at the GM discretion, by selling items of value. This bonus only adds to one purchase and once spent is lost.

Any Feed back or ideas or comments or questions are more then welcome!

A whole lot of updates!

I sat down today and finally had time to tweak a bunch of the existing systems. Added a completely new format and layout for the RPG. It looks alot more organized and dare I say professional looking?

Added more artwork and Recently spoke to a very nice artist named Naraku301. Who is also a Master of Orion fan who is willing and eager to do more artwork for the RPG. In addition to the artwork by Arioch we're sure to have alot of great images to set the mood for the RPG.

Worked abit on the Equipment for the RPG so expect another release sometime before Thanksgiving!

I'm asking for help from the community once again in thinking of Items that they would like to see in the game.

I have some very basic items and weapons taken directly from the game converted.

Weapons
Laser Pistol
Laser Rifle
Mass Driver
Fussion Pistol
Fussion Rifle
Neutron Blaster
Gravition Cannon
Phasor
Gauss Cannon
Ion Pulse Cannon
Plasma Rifle
Disrupter Cannon
Mauler

Energy Blade (Short)
Energy Blade (Long)
Energy Blade (Double-Sided)
Plasma Web
Charged Whip
Tesla Staff

(Archaic)
Dagger
Short Sword
Long Sword
Katar
QuarterStaff
Spear

Items
Anti-Gravity Hardness
Personal Shield
Stealth Suit
Bandages
Neural Spray
Bonding Adhessive
First-Aid Kit
Doctor's Bag
Surgeon's Kit
Cyber-Security Link
Neural Scanner

And that is all I have so far I've run out of ideas T.T I need to know what do you the players think would be interesting or neat to see in the MoO Universe or in a Sci-Fi Universe in general.
Nothing will be laughed at no matter how humors or unrealistic, cause chances are I can adjust it to fit in somehow. However once again they are subject to GM approval.

Dice Systems & Class Tweaking

After a bit of Alpha testing the system, we've settled on a d12 for the core die for the player.
also the classes have been tweaked a bit for starting Credits skills.

So the system will be
The GM will give the player a difficulty

In this case 18

The player will deduct his appropriate skill rating from the diffculty.

The player is Attempting to deactivate a Laser Grid and has the Skill Security at 4

18-4 = 14

14 is the new difficulty the character must roll against. It is based loosely on the Tri-Stat system and functions mainly on d8's.

As of right now I've done the rules for Basic Hand-to-Hand combat and the Races. but I'm currently working on Ship-to-Ship combat as well as Ship Types, Planet Types and Planet Sizes.

Obviously the MoO Universe has alot of explore from the adventure's point of view and being able to create a unique party makes things that much more interesting.

The idea originaly hit me when I was playing MoO2 a few years ago and I noticed that the Leaders you hire, are alot like your little party of Hero's who Help maintain planets, or attack enemies.

Obviously this game focuses more on exploration and adventure then taking over the universe as the PC Game does.

People may be asking why I decided to set it in Masters of Orion 2 Period. One it is personaly my favorite game (MoO3 really disappointed me although it had alot of good story ideas). It also is after the Dark Age of the universe (MoO1) And during a time of Galactic Renaissance so to speak (New Races emerging and old races evolving).

But I would like a little feedback from the Community.

1. I'd like some history about the MoO1 Storyline as well as the MoO2 Storyline.

2. Planet Types, Ship Types, and possible Ship/Planet schematics or designs would be most helpful

3. Fanart and In Game art, I haven't been able to take in game screen shots of MoO2 (ala the Print Screen > Paint Method). So anything would be great!

If your interested in Helping please let me know
